Hydration

While people are so distracted planning their diets and exercise, they often overlook one of the most important substances known to contribute to our safe living, water.

I’m here to remind you why it’s so important to get at least eight 8-oz glasses of water per day.

Why water is important…

- Blood plasma is comprised of approximately 92% water, so dehydration forces the cardiovascular system to work harder to pump blood

- When dehydrated around time of exercise, you may feel dizzy or nauseous and you may get tired faster. Also, you’ll have to work harder and won’t feel up to your potential

- Water helps flood out toxins, so when there is a lack of water in the body, the toxins are more likely to stay inside the body for a longer time. For example, dehydration can delay urination, which is an essential part in toxic flushing

- Not enough water can prevent and/or stop production of saliva and sweat, which cools down your body temperature. Dehydration can set your body temperature off-balance because of this lack of fluid

- Water contributes to complexion, so dehydration can increase likeliness of getting dry skin, acne, blackheads, or other skin annoyances. 

- Water helps control appetite, so it’s necessary to eat healthy, especially when your goal is weight loss. Also, thirst is often mistaken for hunger, so staying hydrated will prevent pointless eating

There are so many more, but I think these are enough reasons. :)
